What is Fingerboarding? - A Brief Overview

Hey Shredders!

Curious to discover what fingerboarding is all about and why your friends or kids are so interested in tiny versions of boards? We’ll quickly break it down for those who are new to the scene: fingerboarding is typically known as skateboarding but with your fingers! However, we here at Shred Haus believe fingerboarding can encompass any board sport - skateboarding, surfing, skimboarding, snowboarding, etc…

Fingerboarding is a great way for skateboard and other board sport enthusiasts to visualize and practice tricks - essentially allowing them to replicate the experience of skateboarding on a smaller scale. There are no rules so you are free to express your own style and creativity. You can even improve finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination. Performing tricks with a fingerboard requires a lot of control and precision. Plus, you can do it virtually anywhere, making it a perfect hobby for anyone. Even those who do not have the resources, means, or capabilities to participate in the full-scale boar sports.

Now, you might be thinking "wait, how can you possibly do tricks with just your fingers?" Well, it’s both a skill and art that can be super challenging but equally rewarding - just like actual skateboarding! These mini skateboards are specifically designed for your fingers and come equipped with metal trucks and small wheels. In fact, Shred Haus designs our boards to be as close to the real thing as possible! We make it feel like the real deal with real maple wood, trucks, bearings, polyurethane wheels, grip tape, and more.

To fingerboard, all you do is place your fingers on the board and use the board the same way you would with your feet. Some common tricks include grinds, flips, and kickflips. And if you're feeling extra creative, you can even try to come up with your own unique tricks.

Don’t forget about the accessories. In addition to fingerboards, you can also get ramps, rails, and other skatepark obstacles to use with your fingerboard. Your setup is completely personal and customizable. The possibilities are endless!

Fingerboarding is a super fun and rewarding hobby that lets you express your creativity and improve your finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination. Shred Haus finger skateboards and surfboards come as complete kits so you anyone of any age can get to shredding right out of the box! Happy shredding!
